Log Panel Wall

Log House Design

Use the function, for example, in cases like this:

  • When adding an extra insulation layer and panel siding to an exterior log wall.
  • When adding an interior wall with a wooden frame and panel siding to a log house.

The function can be used to define the panel height so that the siding looks like the existing log wall.

  1. Do either of the following:
    • Select Modeling | Wall Layout | Wall.
    • Select Modeling | Wall Layout | Wall Wall Next to Log Wall.

Select a structure with log panel siding from the wall library.

    The Wall Dialog Box

  2. Select the Log panel wall auxiliary function.
  3. Select the log wall which determines the height of the panel. The color of the selected wall changes. You can undo the selection by clicking the wall again.
  4. Select Confirm.
  5. Select either of the following as the height of the bottom panel:
    • Full - The height of the bottom panel of the panel siding is the same as the Height of base log parameter.
    • Half - The height of the bottom panel of the panel siding is the same as the Height of half log parameter.

The parameters are described in the guide for the Log wall parameters dialog box at Profile parameters.

  7. Select the points of the wall.
  8. Select Confirm.

Note:
  • To have the panel siding begin from the same level as the log wall, the bottom edge of the frame of the added wall structure must be at the same height as the bottom edge of the log wall. You can edit the basic height of the frame as follows:
    1. Select the wall in the basic mode of the program.
    2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
    3. Select Properties.
