Change a Building Component to Another Component
You can replace a building component with another component already in the building, called a reference component. A building component can be a stair, a door, a window, a single window trim, etc.
By default, the locating point of the reference component is placed to the locating point of the component to be replaced. If necessary, you can enable an auxiliary function to select reference points on components that align.
The rotating and mirroring information of the component to be changed remain unchanged.
- Select the component to be changed. You can select several components by holding down the Ctrl key or using the area selection.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Change Building Component >
To Another.
- If the building has multiple identical components, you will be prompted: "Change all building components of the same kind?" Select either of the following:
- Change all
- Change selected
- Do either of the following:
- Change without reference points: Click the component you want to switch to. By default,
Change without reference points is selected, so that reference points are not specified. The locating point of the reference component is placed to the locating point of the component to be replaced.
- Change using reference points : Right-click to open the auxiliary function menu. Select
Change using reference points, and proceed as follows:
- Select the reference point of the component to be changed.
- Select a reference component.
- Select the reference point of the reference component. The reference component is positioned thus that the reference points selected from the components are set on top of each other.
- Change without reference points: Click the component you want to switch to. By default,
Note: The function is not available for a component modeled with the 3D modeler (Vertex G4) that is added to a building as a part or assembly model (the component has parameter G4P=2).
