Cladding Alignment

Framer

The starting point for the installation of the wall panel cladding can be determined in several different ways.
  • Default

By default, the cladding is started at the default edge (the bottom edge of the layer with horizontal cladding, the left edge of the layer when viewed from the outside with vertical cladding) unless another alignment method is specified for the cladding.

  • Horizontal cladding alignment

It is possible to align the surface hatch of the exterior siding according to the building-specific grid. In the architectural model, the method is available regardless of the exterior siding material. The method also makes it possible to determine the alignment of horizontal cladding boards in the frame model.. Read more about Aligning the Hatch of an Exterior Siding with a Building-specific Grid.

  • Vertical cladding alignment

Vertical cladding can be aligned according to the default frame origin. The alignment affects all cladding layers that match the direction and area of the default frame origin. Read more about Set the Default Frame Origin.

When one of the methods presented above is used, it is possible to define an offset for the start of the cladding in the framing tool of the cladding layer. Read more about Framing Tools: Cladding.

The above methods are ignored if an alternative other than Default is selected for the installation direction in edge detail of the cladding. The cladding starts at the selected edge. In this case, the offset given in the framing tool is ignored. Read more about Edit the Edge Detail of a Cladding.
