Adding a New Window or Door Type to the Library
The most common way to create entirely new window and door types is to model their detailed representation with a 3D modeler as shown in Model Your Own Component. It is also possible to create a new window or door type using a 2D drawing. You need a 2D drawing, which is a front parallel projection of the window or door, viewed from outside. The lines of the drawing must be drawn on certain layers. When the window or door is added to the building, the program creates a 3D volume on basis of the 2D drawing. The thickness of the volume is the thickness of the wall on which the window or door is added.
2D Drawing of a Window Or Door
When you have drawn the 2D drawing of a window or door, add the window or door to the library by editing the library.
Edit the Window or Door Library
- The drawing can be for example a DWG file converted to a Vertex 2D drawing.
- You can add new sizes of the existing window and door types to the library.
