Disable or Enable Object Export to IFC File

IFC Converter

You can block the export of an individual object in a building to an IFC file as follows:

  1. Select the object in the model or in the floor plan.
  2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  3. Select IFC > Disable export.

If you block the export of a panel, its parts will still be exported to the IFC file.

The block is in effect for that building until you allow the export of the object:

  1. Select the object in the model or in the floor plan.
  2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  3. Select IFC > Enable export.

Define a block for macro components in the component library

You can define whether to block or allow the export of a macro component to an IFC file in the component library.

  1. Open the library browser by selecting System | Libraries | Libraries.
  2. Open the folder Custom libraries / Components / Macro components.
  3. Select a library.
  4. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  5. Select Edit library content.
  6. Select the IFC tab.
  7. Move to the row of the desired component.
  8. In the IFC export field, select one of the following:
    • By default, the field is empty, and the component is exported to the IFC file.
    • Enable - The component is exported to the IFC file.
    • Disable - The component is not exported to the IFC file.
Note: You can highlight the parts whose IFC export has been disabled in the model with a color. Select Part marking from the tool strip. Select Mark parts disabled in IFC export, and click Select color to select a highlight color.
