Create Your Own Sheet or Symbol (2D)

Create your own sheet by editing an old one, or draw a new sheet using 2D drawing functions. Import an existing sheet to the drawing window and edit it if necessary, or start a new drawing.

The software supplier's example sheets you will find in the Browser.

  1. Open the browser Browser - Archives.
  2. Select Libraries, open the folder Symbols.
  3. Open the folder Contacts, and select Sheets.
  4. Select on old sheet, and select the context-sensitive Open.
  5. Edit the sheet using the drawing functions.
  6. Save the symbol Save as symbol
  7. Select Confirm.
Note:
  • Besides the sheet, you can save the logo or another symbol you use in the sheet or in the drawing, for example, in the symbol library. When saving, you need to select the symbol type: normal symbol, sheet, logo or automatically updated sheet.

The lines on a sheet are drawn as polylines. Before saving the sheet, explode continuous polyline into lines, and remove geometric constraints.

Do not save the projection of a model drawing as a symbol or logo before the projection link has been cut.

  1. Start a new drawing. New 2D Drawing
  2. Name the drawing file. Draw the sheet on the template, the scale is 1:1.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Edit an old drawing sheet using the drawing functions.
    • Sheet is group - If you want to edit an element of the sheet, select the element by holding down the Alt key and click the element. If necessary, you can explode the whole group with the Explode Group function, and edit the sheet elements. Explode a Group
    • Draw a new sheet. Add the text as the text table. Text Table
    • Add the logo to the sheet. Select the logo in the Browser Browser - Archives.
    • Read Symbol Browser - Archives.
    • Draw a new symbol.
  4. Refresh the drawing area limits by selecting the Update Drawing.
  5. Save the sheet or the symbol to the symbol library. Save As Symbol
Note:
