Model Drawing

Drawings are created of all parts and assemblies that are documents of the models.

The part/assembly model should be as close to completion as possible when creating the drawing. This way, you will not need to update the drawing frequently due to the part/assembly being edited after creating the drawing.

Creating a Drawing

You can create a new drawing of an archived part or assembly when the model is in the working window. Define a scale for the new drawing and the projections to be displayed of the model.

Projection Tree of a Drawing

The projection tree helps you to view and edit projections of a drawing that has been created from a part or an assembly with this software.

  • You can select functions directed at the drawing such as Collecting a Parts List, Adding a Drawing Sheet, Adding a Projection, etc. from the projection tree.
  • Additionally, you can select functions directed at the selected projection, such as cutting, moving, and deleting a projection, or creating sections or detail views, etc.
  • The draft of the projection can be defined. As, an example Open Shading + Wire Frame.

Projections of a Drawing

The projections of a drawing are views of a model: parallel projections from the left, front, right and top, for example. You can add other projections to a drawing, such as a section view or a part view, an enlarged detail, for example.

A projection line surrounds a projection. Its purpose is to indicate that the projection is associated with a model. When you edit the model, the projections of the drawing will be refreshed to reflect the changes.

Saving a Drawing

New or changed drawing can be saved in the model or as documents in the drawing archive. By default it is assumed that drawings are created from an archived model. The program will automatically assign a name to the drawing. When a drawing is saved in the drawing archive, the model is also saved if it has been changed.

Close a Drawing

Drawings that have changed are saved before they are closed.

Opening an Existing Drawing

An existing drawing can be opened for editing from the part feature tree on assembly tree by selecting the Drawings function. When the drawing is opened, the projections are automatically refreshed.

Drawings saved in the drawing archive can be loaded from the drawing archive without the model. The changes made to the model can be refreshed to the projections of the drawing by selecting the Update function. The projection tree of a drawing is not displayed in the working window when the drawing is opened from the drawing archive.
