Create a New Item and Link It

If the item database do not contain an appropriate item, you can create a new item for the part. The newly created item is saved in the item database.

After selecting a dimension table ID, create a new item as follows:

1. Click the dimension table Item section Data. The material data window for the part opens.
2. Click New.
3. Select either of the following:
   • Accept an old item as the basis of the new item data by selecting Yes. Select an existing item using class selection data.
   • Create a new item by selecting No.
4. Fill in the label of the new item.
5. Fill in the search data, and select OK.
6. Link the item to a profile part or a component. Link an Item to a Part
7. Select the material data OK.
8. Select in the dimension table OK.
