Part or an Assembly as an Item

You can paste to a new item a part or an assembly. A model will then also be connected to the item.

Create a new item when adding a new document.

We recommend creating an item from an assembly only after the assembly geometry and item structure data exist.

New Item

  1. When creating a new document
    • On the tab, in the Documents group, select New
    • Click Item. Name the label by the Label? button.
    • Click the label by double-clicking the Select from the item database. Select the classification: subgroup, and select classification.
    • Click OK.
  2. The model geometry already exists
    • Select the Properties function in the part or assembly model.
    • Click Item data. Fill in the item data.
  3. Click OK.

Define the item label and transfer the item to the item database
