Editing Settings
At start-up, Vertex first reads the settings from the system folder, and then the settings of the custom folder, i.e. the customer's own settings. The settings read last remain in effect.
- You can return to the factory settings simply by deleting the ../custom/programs/vxsettings.xml file. All settings will then be read from the system folder.
The settings are edited with the function File > System Preferences > Edit.
- The changes you make are saved to the file ../custom/programs/vxsettings.xml.
- Only the modified rows will be saved in the file.
- The system settings, which cannot be edited, are stored in the file ../system/programs/vxsettings.xml.
Setup files you cannot edit
The functionality is not yet in use for the following setup files.
- Parts list settings - KOMPOT.
- Application databases menu - DBMENU
- Visible fields of thumbnail document selection - ARCHIVEDEF
- Please also note that, with regard to attribute definitions, the PARTLIST file is no longer used. Its settings are now found in the draft keyword group in the new setup dialog box.
Note:
- If you have copied the entire PARTLIST file from G4’s system folder to the shared/setup folder and edited it, we recommend contacting our Helpdesk.
