Import a Step or Sat Model Directly Into an Assembly

• If an assembly model is active and you drag the file to be imported to the Vertex G4 desktop, you can choose to import the model directly into the assembly.
• In this case, the model does not need to be separately imported and saved in the archive or library before it can be added to the assembly.

Import a model directly into an assembly

1. Open or activate the assembely model window where you want to import the SAT or STEP file.
2. Drag and drop the file using Windows Explorer on top of the Vertex model window.
   • The program reads and analyzes the file and opens the box Importing File ...

     

3. Click Add to active assembly.
   • If necessary, select other options as well.
4. Click OK to complete the import.
