Rotate a Model to the Correct Position when Importing

General

• You can rotate models to be translated via SAT conversion (SAT, STEP, IGES, SolidWorks) to the correct position during import.
• For example, if you read a model made with SolidWorks in the default coordinate system and want it in the same position to G4, then the PunX rotation (=rotation around the red x-axis) must be set to 90 degrees.

Import the file and at the same time rotate the model to the right position

1. Drag the file to be imported to the Vertex G4 desktop.
   • Or import it according to the instructions Import a File.
   • The dialog box Importing File xxxx.yyy opens.

     

2. Click on the row you want to edit, for example RotateX.
3. Enter the rotation angle, for example 90.
4. If necessary, fill in other parameters.
5. Click OK to accept the values that control the import.
