Exploding into Geometry
You can explode a building component or a geometry group into basic geometry elements, i.e., points, lines, surfaces, etc. The connection between the 2D geometry and 3D geometry will be lost. When a building component or a geometry group has been exploded into geometry, you can, for example, edit lines using the functions in the Lines button menu.
- Select one or more building components or geometry groups.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Advanced > Explode into Geometry.
You will be prompted: "Exploding to geometry will delete all object attributes, e.g. material information. Exploding cannot be undone. Are you sure you want to explode?"
- Confirm exploding by selecting Yes in the message box.
Note
- You can select a geometry group for moving, copying, etc., when the object type Groups of Geometry is selected in the Selection Filter (default).
- You can create a geometry group in two ways:
- By creating a group from basic elements.
- By exploding a building component into a geometry group.
