Zoom a Perspective View
When you zoom with a wheel mouse in a perspective view, the program selects different zoom steps for small (dimensions are a few meters) and large (dimensions are hundreds of meters) models. This enables you to "walk" in the perspective view of a large model while being able to zoom in a small model. When you zoom with a wheel mouse in a perspective view, you can adjust the movement as follows:
- Slow down by pressing the Shift key.
- Speed up by pressing the Ctrl key.
The prompt on the status bar shows when the Shift and Ctrl keys are available.
You can set a model to a perspective projection by selecting View | Projection | Perspective.
Inverted zoom
You can enable the Inverted Zoom setting, which changes the default functionality of the wheel mouse to opposite.
- Select > Preferences > Drawings, Models.
- Select the Usage tab.
- Select Common: Inverted Zoom.
When you roll the mouse wheel:
- Towards yourself - zoom in.
- Away from yourself - zoom out.
Centering Zoom
By default, rotating the mouse wheel moves the area where the cursor is to the center of the working window. If you want to zoom without centering the drawing/model, turn off the Centering Zoom setting.
- Select > Preferences > Drawings, Models.
- Select the Usage tab.
- Clear the selection Common: Centering Zoom.
