Select either only the object types to be locked, or in addition also the filtering properties of the object type.

Object Types

Select the object types in the list box of the dialog box in one of the following ways:

• Select one object type by clicking the left mouse button.
• Select several object types by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking the left mouse button.
• Select all the object types in the list by clicking All or by pressing Ctrl+A.

You can detect the object types imported with an IFC model by the marking (ifc).

If you lock object types in the middle of a function selected from a button menu, the list will show only the object types to which the function can be applied.

Filtering by properties

In addition, you can limit the objects to be selected by properties, when you select one or more of the following object types in the list box:

• Basic geometry:
  • Hatches
  • Dimensions
  • Texts
  • Lines
• Building components:
  • Profiles
  • Wall Member (frame part)
  • Details
• IFC objects:
  • You can detect the IFC object types by the marking (ifc).

Click the button at the top right corner of the dialog box to expand the dialog box and to be able to select the filtering properties. The filtering properties are determined by the object types you have selected in the list box at the left side of the dialog box. The properties, which are common to the selected object types, can be selected at the right side of the dialog box.

The table below presents the filtering properties for the basic geometry object types Hatches, Dimensions, Texts and Lines.

You can filter profiles and wall members by using the following properties:

• Library
• Code
• Use
• Material
• Function
• Shape

You can filter details by layer.

You can filter IFC objects by using the object name or property data.

• Name - Filter IFC objects by using the name. Type a character string in the text field. You can replace part of the text with the wild card characters question mark (?) or asterisk (*). The question mark stands for a single character, and the asterisk stands for any combination of characters.
• Property data - Open a branch of a property set, select the filtering property and enter a Value for it. By default, only the common property sets are shown in the list. You can view all property sets by selecting Show All Property Sets.

You can filter objects by one or more properties. Select the value of the filtering property from the list, or select the properties of an existing object by clicking Select. Clear all the filtering properties by clicking Clear.

Select the values of the filtering properties by clicking an object with the desired properties in the drawing. The properties of the selected object will be refreshed in the dialog box. You can still edit the values by selecting a new value from the lists or by clearing a value from a text field with the Delete key.

Clear

Clear all the text fields.

When you want to filter objects only by the object type, click the button in the dialog box to extract the filtering properties. Next time you use the filtering properties, they will have the last selected values.

IFC attribute filter

If the IFC link add-on feature is available to you, you can filter walls, doors and windows based on their geometry and IFC attributes.

• Set - Select an object imported from an IFC model, and set its attributes as a filter.
• Edit - Edit the attributes of the IFC filter.
• Clear - Delete the IFC filter.
