Select the Text Editor

Various kinds of project lists are opened in a word processor of the user's choice. Wordpad is the default application, but it can be changed into, for example, Notepad, Word, or other word processor in the user's system.

You can define the word processor in the ../user/SETUP file with two keywords. In the table below, Wordpad has been defined as the word processor.

Keyword	Meaning
text_editor = txt write	Wordpad opens files with txt extension.
text_editor = none write	Wordpad opens text files without extension.

You can replace write with the label of another word processor:

Label	Text editor
write	Wordpad
notepad	Notepad
vertex	Vertex text editor

If you want to choose a word processor not presented in the table above, replace write with the name of the program executable with full path, for example:

"C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/Winword.exe"

Add quotation marks around the file name.

Note:

Notepad is not recommended to be used with Vertex or any other Windows-based applications. Using Notepad may cause occasional software failures. Notepad is an old application, and it lacks the necessary compatibility for integrated use of applications.
