Position a Model on a Scalable Background Photo

Rendering

A scalable background photo (type Sbackfoto) makes it easier to position the model relative to the background photo, because you can still move and scale the photo relative to the model after the model has been positioned. Add the scalable background photo to the model before positioning the model on the photo. Position the model using the Navigate function. Because the background photo is also visible in the shaded model, you can position the model using this render style.

Note: The points determining the position cannot be clicked in a perspective projection. Make sure, that View | Projection | Perspective is not selected before you position the model with the Navigate function.
  1. Select Rendering | Environment | Background. The browser is opened.
  2. Select the folder Misc / Scaled Background Photos in the Vertex Library.
  3. Double-click the thumbnail.
  4. Select View | Projection | Isometric > Navigate.
  5. Position the model in the same way as on a normal background photograph.

  10. Finally, accept the position of the model on the background photograph by pressing the Esc key.
Note:
  • If you want to further move or scale the background photo relative to the model, first select some other projection and then select the Navigate function.
  • If the background photo is not visible in the model window and you have selected Rendering | Render Style | Shaded as the render style, the background photo is not of the Scbackfoto type.
