Set a Background

Rendering

The default background of a visualized model is a graduated background color. Set another background to the model as follows:

  1. Select Rendering | Environment | Background.
  2. Select a folder in the left frame of the browser. Thumbnail images of the options in the folder will be displayed in the right frame. The software supplier's backgrounds are in the Vertex Library, for example:
    • Exteriors
    • Graduated colours
    • Interiors
    • Plain colours
    • Radial gradients
    • Scaled image backgrounds - An image that is scaled to fill the whole background.
    • Studio backgrounds - A backdrop of a photographic studio.
    • Misc/Background Photos - A photograph on which a model can be positioned using pairs of points.
    • Misc/Scaled Background Photos - A photograph on which a model can be positioned using pairs of points. You can move and scale the photo relative to the model after the model has been positioned.
    • Skies
    • General
  3. Do either of the following:
    • Double-click the thumbnail.
    • Right-click the thumbnail and select Select.
Note:
  • You can display the background by visualizing the model using the Rendering | Render Style | Rendered function.
  • Once you have added a background to the model, a new selection will replace the old background.
  • You can create your own backgrounds, see Create a New Background or Foreground.
  • A model can have both the background and the foreground at the same time.
  • You can also select this function in the object tree. Select the object tree title Rendering. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Set Background.
