Retrieve Building Group Models from the DesignStream System
DesignStream Interface
You can add only building group models in a local building archive to the main model. If you wish to use a building group model in the DesignStream system, you can retrieve a copy of the building from the server into the local building archive. You can retrieve a copy of one or more building group models without checking the buildings out from the server as follows:
- Select File > Building Archive > Get Building Groups from DesignStream.
- Select the building groups to be retrieved from the list.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
The selected building group models are copied into the local building archive at the BLDG_GROUPS saving location. You can now add the building group model to the main building.
Note:
- The building group model retrieved with this function is just a copy of a building on the server. Another user may check out the building group model from the server and make changes to it. Such changes will not be automatically updated in a building in a local archive. If you wish to update a building group model added to a main model, you must delete the building group model from the local archive. When you open the main model next time, the building group model will be recopied from the server.
- If you open the building group model you copied before adding it to the main model, the building group model will be checked out with your username from the DesignStream system. Other users cannot then check out the building for editing.
