Add an Origin Point
Framer, Floor Framing & Rafters
This function can be used to add an origin point to a framing field. One field may contain several origin points. The origin points determine where the placing of the joists is started. A joist is always positioned at the origin point.
Add an origin point to a framing field as follows:
- Select the structure. The structure’s basic layer whose type is FRAMING becomes automatically selected. If necessary, you can select another FRAMING type layer.
- Select Plane Structure | Framing | Framing Gallery Fields.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Add Origin.
- If necessary, change the direction of the origin point as follows:
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select one of the following:
- Vertical
- Horizontal
- Default (direction of the riser on a sloping plane)
- Select direction
- Select the start point of the direction line.
- Select the end point of the direction line.
- Select a location for the origin point. You can locate the origin at a distance of 600 mm
or 1200 mm from the edge of the framing field as follows:
- Move the cursor near the edge.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select either of the following:
- Distance 600
- Distance 1200
Note:
- Before selecting a location for the origin point, you can change its direction to horizontal or vertical also by using the cursor keys Arrow right or Arrow left.
- After selecting the origin points and properties, you can refresh the framing using the Add and Update a Framing function.
