Change Project of Documents

You can move documents selected from the archive to a different project.

  • You can select documents to be moved from a project or the common drawing/model archive.
  • The selected document will be moved to another project. Model-related documents such as model drawings (work drawings) and revisions and thumbnail images (BMP files) are moved to the other project.
  • The program will notify you of the project change, and finally report any errors.

If the document to be moved is active in the working window, close the window.

Do as follows:

  1. On the tab, in the Documents group, select Maintenance > Change Documents of Project.
  2. Source Project - Select the source project in one of the following ways:
    • Select a project from the list.
    • You can find the project from the list by entering its name in the empty field and clicking Search (F3). If you also select Quick Search, projects with names containing the specified character string are highlighted in the list.
    • Select the common drawing/model archive by selecting <picts>.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Source Documents - Select the documents to be moved.
    • Select one item from the list by clicking with the left mouse button.
    • Select more than one item by holding down the Ctrl key while selecting by clicking the left mouse button.
    • Select the desired range from the list by holding down Shift and clicking the start and end of the range with the left mouse button.

    The selected documents will be moved to another project.

  5. Click OK.
  6. Target Project - Select the target project in one of the following ways:
    • Select a project from the list.
    • Create a new project by selecting <New Project>.
    • Select the common drawing/model archive by selecting <picts>.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Selected Documents - The program will report any errors detected before attempting the operation.

    You can see, for example, the following information on the documents selected to be moved:

    • Document type, name, description, author, date.
    • Reason for the change – e.g., User selected or Related (to a document).
    • Status of the change, such as:

      Warning: Work drawing selected without a parent model (waiting for confirmation).

  9. Do either of the following:
    • Accept the selected documents by clicking OK.
    • If you wish to prevent the documents from being moved to another project, select Cancel.
  10. The program will notify you when it has changed the project for the documents. Click the OK button.
  11. Select Report Format - You will be given a report on the project change. All errors will be listed in the report. Select one of the following as the file format:
    • Excel
    • Text file
