Limit the Type of Element the Cursor will Snap to in the Model

General

  • With auxiliary functions, you can limit the elements that can be selected with the cursor.
  • The auxiliary functions are available in a number of functions, including:
    • When you move a part, and the program asks you to click the reference point.
    • When you move a part and you are selecting a new location for the part.
    • Move a Part in an Assembly

Limit the elements found by the cursor

  1. Select the auxiliary function To all.
    • You can click surfaces, lines, and points.
  2. Select the auxiliary function Snap to line and point
    • You can click lines and points.
  3. Select the auxiliary function Snap to point
    • You can only click points.
  4. Select the auxiliary function Snap to line
    • You can only click lines.
  5. Select the auxiliary function Snap to surface
    • You can only click surfaces.
  6. Select the auxiliary function Snap to point on line
    • You can click any point on a line.
  7. Select the auxiliary function Snap to line mid point
    • You can only click the center of a line.
  8. Select the auxiliary function Snap to tangent point
    • You can only click the intersection point of the tangent lines of an arc.
  9. Select the auxiliary function Snap to surface center point
    • You can only click the center point of a surface.
