Delete From Inside / Outside Area

You can draw a free-form area, delimited by a polyline, with two different functions. One of the functions deletes the points of the point clouds in the active model from inside the area, and the other from outside the area.

  1. Select the function Point clouds | Tools | Delete inside of area or Point clouds | Tools | Delete outside of area.
  2. Click the polyline points of the selection area. After clicking the last point of the polyline, select OK from the context-sensitive menu or, alternatively, confirm the command with the middle mouse button. The program automatically closes the area between the first and last clicked point.
  3. The program deletes the points of the point clouds, depending on the function, either inside or outside the area.

Note: You can also delete the points of an individual point cloud by selecting it from the feature tree and using the context-sensitive functions that open by right-clicking.
  • Point Cloud | Delete points outside given area
  • Point Cloud | Delete points inside given area
Note: If you want to assign the functions to a single point cloud selected from the feature tree, first remove the possible 3D limits in the model. If the 3D limitation is in effect, the functions mentioned here cannot be selected in the context-sensitive menu.
