Using Help
General
- The instructions are delivered with the program installation package and can be opened from within the program.
- Help uses the relative font. You can increase and decrease the font size of the instructions by holding down the Ctrl key and rolling the mouse wheel.
- The instructions are only provided in the language of the installation package.
- If necessary, you can also ask the supplier for mec_help.chm manual in another language and place it in the user’s Vertex home directory (vxg4/user).
- The program primarily opens the help (mec_help.chm) in the user folder.
- You can also find the instructions on the page https://docs.vertex.fi/.
- The Help menu also contains subsections, some of which direct to www pages, in which case you must have access to the internet.
- Some instructions open a PDF file, so you need Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free and can be downloaded from www.adobe.fi or www.adobe.com.
Open and Use Help
- Open Help
- Click on the function in the upper right corner of the work window > User Guide (F1) or
- press the F1 key.
- The program opens the help in a separate window.
- If necessary, edit the help window.
- You can move the window to a different screen if you use two or more monitors.
- You can stretch the window by dragging it from the corner of the window or the edge of the window.
- You can increase and decrease the font size of the instructions by holding down the Ctrl key and rolling the mouse wheel.
- There are three ways to view the Help
- On the Contents page, you can browse the tree-like hierarchy of Help.
- On the Index page, you can find search terms that you can click to open Help.
- Search terms are automatically sorted in alphanumeric order.
- On the Search page, you can enter a string, preferably the name of the command displayed in the Vertex G4 user interface, and press Enter to list the instructions where that string is found.
- Click Title to arrange the found instructions in alphabetical order according to their title.
