Update Attributes

You can update the attribute databases of old drawings to be similar to the attribute databases found in the system, for example. Attribute data is data attached to a drawing line, text (part number) or hatch, for example material data attached to a part number. Attribute data is stored in the program's internal attribute databases. The attribute databases are managed in the same way as other databases, with format files. The contents of the attribute databases of a drawing can only be viewed when the drawing is active in the drawing window.

An automatic update occurs when you open a model or drawing from the archive, when you open a part or subassembly for editing in an assembly, or when you open a drawing from a model. When you add a group to a drawing, only the attributes of the group in question are updated.

Update the attributes of a drawing or model as follows:

1. Activate the drawing or model you want to update.
2. Select System | Databases | Maintenance > Update Attributes.
