Details Using Other File Formats
In addition to a Vertex 2D drawing, a detail can be created using a DWG, DOC or PDF file, for example. Move or copy the file to the desired detail archive directory, which can be located in the Detbook directory in the Custom or project directory.
After this, open the d_DETAILS database from the ../detbook/dbases directory for editing. The easiest way to open the database in the Vertex BD application is dragging and dropping.
Add a row in the database by selecting Edit > Add Row Before or Edit > Add Row After. You can define the detail data as when creating a detail based on a Vertex 2D drawing - see Detail Data. In the File field, type the entire file name including the file extension, for example "detail.dwg". In the Detail archive field, type the name of the archive to which the detail has been copied.
Note
- A detail created of a file format other than Vertex 2D drawing can only be added to the project drawing as a symbol. When adding the detail, click the Symbol radio button in the Select Detail dialog box to add the detail as a symbol.
