Architectural

Edit the room materials in the Room Materials dialog box. In the dialog box, you can define room-specific or wall-specific materials.

  • Room-specific materials - Define the materials for the floor, ceiling and/or walls of the room. All the walls will have the same materials. In the list box of the dialog box, the room-specific materials have been marked with a following label:

Add a row to the list box for each part of the room (floor, ceiling, walls).

  • Wall-specific materials - Define a material for a specific wall. Select the wall according to the wall number. You can see the wall numbers in the preview image of the dialog box. In the list box of the dialog box, the wall-specific materials have been marked with a following label:

The number refers to the wall number. Add a row to the list box for each wall.

When you have added a new row in the list box, click the field in the first column, and select the label of either the room-specific or wall-specific material from the list. Add a row to the list box by clicking the Add row button.

Dialog Box Options

Room
When you select the room to be edited, the program adds a number to the room, for example 001. The number is displayed in the Room field at the top of the dialog box.
Material Code
A material code, based on which the material is collected to the bill of materials. Pick the code from the material register in the following way:
  1. Click the field in the Code column. The Material Register dialog box opens.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Define search criteria in the dialog box. For example, you can search for all the codes starting with letter A by typing A* in the Code field and then clicking OK. You can define search criteria in any of the fields in the dialog box.
    • Get all the codes in the material register by just clicking OK.
  3. Select the material code from a list.
Type
Click the field in the Type column, and select the type from the list. Select one of the following:
  • CEILING - Ceiling area.
  • COLOR - Room color.
  • CORNERS - Total length of room corner heights.
  • FLOOR - Floor area.
  • FLOOR+TURN_UP2H - Floor area + turn up of floor to walls. Type the height of the turn up (H) in the Secondary type field.
  • OPNGAREA - Glass area of windows and doors.
  • PERIM - Perimeter of the room, for baseboards, for example.
  • PERIM@H - Perimeter of the room at height H. Type the height H in the Secondary type field. The length of the opening or the space divider walls is not calculated in the perimeter.
  • PERIM_OPENINGS - Total perimeter of the openings.
  • QTY - Components, or materials that can be measured by quantity.
  • VOLUME - Room volume. Type the room height in the Secondary type field.
  • WALL - Wall area. Type the room height in the Secondary type field.
  • WALL_GR - Wall area without openings. Type the room height in the Secondary type field.
  • WAREA - Window area.
The program calculates the area or perimeter based on the type in order to discover the required material quantities.
Quantity
Type a ratio (usually 1) in the Quantity field. The amount of material collected for the bill of materials will be multiplied by it. If, for example, the baseboard and the cornice molding are of the same material, you can define them on a single row in the list and set 2 as the ratio, in which case the material quantity will be double the number of linear meters based on the perimeter of the room.
You can also set the quantity to 0, in which case the material is not collected to the bill of materials.
Secondary type
Type the value in the Secondary type field.
Secondary types can be defined for following material types:
Type Explanation Secondary type
FLOOR+TURN_UP2H Floor area + turn up of floor to walls. Height of the turn up H.
PERIM@H Perimeter of the room at height H. Height H.
VOLUME Room volume. Room height.
WALL Wall area. Room height.
WALL_GR Wall area without openings. Room height.
