Locate by Surface
You can use this function to turn a macro you are adding parallel to a selected surface. You can use this function when you are adding roof accessories, such as ladders, for example. Select a function from the auxiliary menu.
The macro may have been modeled in either the xy, yz or xz plane. You can select which coordinates plane of the macro is to be set parallel to the surface. Select the coordinate system cursor in use by pressing the K key. This way you can easily determine which plane you want to turn.
Once you have set the macro parallel to the surface, you can rotate the macro on the surface plane by using the function Rotate Around the Normal of the Selected Surface before selecting the location of the macro.
- Select the surface.
- Select the coordinates plane of the macro to be set parallel to the surface.
- Select the location of the macro.
Note
- You can add roof accessories by using the function Add a Piece of Furniture Or Another Building Component. Select the folder Outdoors/Roof materials in the browser.
- You can restore the original position of the macro by using the function Normalizing Position.
