Energy Zone Definitions Dialog Box

This dialog box presents all of the structures you have selected in the model. These structures are used to form a space volume for which areas, volumes and perimeters are calculated. Before the final calculation, you can edit the space volume by defining offsets for the structures. The surfaces that are limited by the structures will be moved outwards by the amount defined by the offset values.

Dialog Box Options

Filter
This dialog box collects all of the structures you have selected in the model. You can filter the listed structures by type. Do one of the following:
  • Select the type from the Filter list. The structure list only presents structures of the selected type.
  • Press and hold the Ctrl key to select several types.
  • Click Select All to select all types.
  • Press and hold the Ctrl key and click a type to deselect it.
Select Structure
All of the selected structures that match the type selected in the Filter list are displayed.
You can edit the space volume defined by the structures by setting an offset for the structures in the Offset field of the list. Enter the measurement by which you would like to move the surface limited by the structure outwards. The offset is calculated from the origina interior surface of the structure. Example: if the thickness of the wall is 300 mm and the offset value is 150, the middle part of the wall defines the final space volume.
The default value of the offset depends on the value of the keyword volume_limit_surf that is defined in the system settings:
  • volume_limit_surfinsideThe default offset value is 0. With this value, the interior surface of the structure defines the final space volume.
  • volume_limit_surfoutsideThe default offset is the same as the thickness of the structure. With this value, the exterior surface of the structure defines the final space volume.
