Printing a Differential BOM

You can generate a Differential Bill of Materials by comparing the material quantities of option groups to the base model of the building or to one of the option groups. The comparison between option groups has been defined in the ± material database of the option system.

1. Select Options | +/- BOM Groups Print +/- Reports.
2. Select the report to be printed from a list.

   The difference between these two reports is the output format of the bill of materials which is generated as a result of the comparison process. The output formats can be customized to meet the requirements of your company.

3. If you have already generated a differential bill of materials, you will be prompted: "BOM database already exists, overwrite?" Select Yes.

The Differential BOM is opened in the word processor defined in the setup file. Usually the material quantities of the option groups are compared to the default building model named BASE. The materials of the BASE set are displayed at the top of the list. The quantities of the other option groups are compared to the BASE model, and only the differences in the quantities are displayed on the list on behalf of these groups.

The Differential BOM is stored in the project folder with the name bom.plusmin1 or bom.plusmin2.
