Add a Hatch to a Panel

You can add a hatch of the desired size to a wall, floor or roof panel. You can choose to punch the entire structure or only one side. The hatch affects the generation of the frame and sheathing. When you add parts to a panel, the program adds the frame parts around the hatch and cuts the sheet so that a piece of the sheet remains at the hatch. If the hatch is located in the lower corner of a wall panel, no bottom plate or edge details are added around it.

To resize a hatch, open its properties for editing.

  1. Activate the model window.
  2. Select Modeling | Connection | Joint > Profiles Connection Details. The browser is opened.
  3. Select the browser folder Service Holes / Punches.
  4. Double-click the component (0501) Hatch.
  5. Select the panel.
  6. If necessary, change the locating point of the component, flip the component, edit the parameters of the component, or select another auxiliary function from the menu which opens by right-clicking.

      • Punch Up/Exterior - The sheets above the frame layer in a floor or roof panel and outside the frame layer in a wall panel are cut so that a piece of the sheet is left at the hatch. In the first sheathing layer, the offset of the sheet piece at the edges of the hatch is 0, and then the offset increases by 10 mm at the edges of the hatch when moving to upper/outer layer. There is a gap of 2 mm between the sheets.

      • Punch Down/Interior - The sheets below the frame layer in a floor or roof panel and inside the frame layer of a wall panel are cut so that a piece of the sheet is left at the hatch.

      • When you select both, the sheets on both sides of the frame layer are cut.

Note:
  • The default parameter values for the component included in the standard software delivery are defined in the component library System Libraries / Joint Details / Servicehole Lines.
