Edit the IFC Export Setting Library

IFC Converter

It is possible to save IFC export settings in the component library as a template. When you export a building model to an IFC file, you can use the settings saved in the library by selecting the template from the list in the dialog box. The component library included in the standard delivery of the program has two ready-made templates. You can create your own library and copy a template there from the system library or project-specific library, or add a completely new template. The project-specific library is created when you save the settings you selected in the Export IFC Model dialog box. You can recognize a project-specific library from the [P] symbol.

  1. Select System | IFC > IFC Exports, and move the cursor to the folder pane of the browser.
  2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select New Library.
  3. Enter a name for the library, and select OK.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Copy the settings from the system library or project-specific library [P]:
      1. Select a library in the left-hand browser pane.
      2. Select the settings you want in the right side browser pane, and select Copy from the right-click menu.
      3. Select the library you just created, move the cursor to the right side browser pane and select Paste.
      4. Type a name for the settings.
      5. Double-click the template in the right side browser pane.
    • Create new settings.
      1. Select the library you just created in the left-hand browser pane.
      2. Move the cursor to the right side browser pane, right-click to open the context-sensitive menu and select New.
      3. Type a name for the settings.
  5. Edit the settings of the template in the dialog box. See the instructions Export IFC Model Dialog Box.
Note: You cannot save the IFC file name or file path to the template.
