In the View Tasks dialog box, you can select to update generation models and/or views as well as the view draw settings, and the drawing sheet to be opened. The drawing sheet alternatives are customer-specific.
Dialog Box Options
- Update Views
- When you open a sheet for the first time, select the Update views check box. The elevation and cross section views will then be updated to match the model and the drawing settings. If the check box is clear, the sheet is only opened without updating the views.
- Update models
- When you generate the elevation and section drawings for the first time, update the drawing generation models, if you have not already updated them by selecting the function Update Views or Build a Drawing Generation Model, for example. Update the drawing generation model also when you have modified the building model.
-
Note: When you change the building model, save the model before updating the drawing sheets. Otherwise the changes are not updated in the floor plan drawings or in the drawing generation models.
- If the sheet only has a section view created from the active model, you do not need to update the drawing generation model.
- Drawing Settings
- The default drawing method of the views is wireframe. You can also select shading or Lightworks shading (requires the Rendering add-on option for the software) as the drawing method.
- The same drawing method is used for all views unless you have selected a different drawing method for an individual view in the view properties. If you have selected individual drawings settings for views, but you want to use the same here selected drawing method for all views, select the check box Override view specific settings.
- View Draw Settings
- New
- Create a new drawing sheet as follows:
- Click the New button.
- Enter a file name and description for the sheet in a dialog box. The sheet is saved with the file name in the building's view_sheets folder.
- Add a sheet to the drawing window. See Add a Drawing Sheet and Title Block.
- Add the drawings on the sheet by using the Output | Drawings | Add Drawing to Sheet function.
- Save and close the drawing sheet.
- The sheet can then be selected from the dialog box's Sheets list under its own name.
- Delete
- Delete a drawing sheet by selecting the desired sheet from the Sheets list and click the Delete button. The program will ask for confirmation before deleting the selected sheet. You can delete several sheets at once by selecting the sheets with the Ctrl key pressed down.
- Pick Sheet from Library
- You can import sheets stored in a library into the drawing sheets of a building by using the function Pick sheet from library. The selected sheets are copied to the view_sheets folder of the building, and they are displayed in the building's document browser. The document data is copied to the building's FILEINFO database.
- If the drawing sheet imported from the library has views as reference drawings, views with the same name must also be found in the building's view_dwgs folder. A reference to a drawing outside the building works if the reference is an absolute file path.
- Select a folder in the browser. The standard delivery of the program includes library sheets for different purposes. Select one or more sheets in the right side browser pane. You can select several sheets from the same folder in the following ways:
- Press and hold the Ctrl key to select several sheets.
- Select a set of sheets:
- Click the first sheet.
- Press the Shift key, and click the last sheet of the set.
- Right-click and select
Select. Fill in the document data. If you selected multiple sheets, complete the data for each sheet individually in the Building Document Information database view.
- Document Information
- After this, you can open the sheet from the building's document browser. If necessary, first update the views on the sheet and their drawing generation models.
