Sheet Set Operations

  1. On the tab, in the Batch group, click Sheet Set Operations.

    Perform certain user-defined functions on the drawing group of the active project or individual drawings of the project.

  2. The functions are carried out on layers according to the selected layer group.

Performed functions

  1. Start by param.program:
  2. Update text symbols
  3. Translate texts
  4. Update position references
  5. End by param.program:

Functions are performed to all drawings sheets of the drawing.

  1. Select Sheet Set Operations.
  2. Make necessary selections in the Sheet Set Operations window and click OK.

    If a drawing number or a group is has not been selected, the program opens the menu in which you can select drawings of the active project.

Performed functions will be updated also in the opened drawing sheets.

  • Sheet-set operations creates a log file user/sh_op_err in to Vertex folder and you can open it in log browser for viewing. Open the log file Sheet Set Operations of the log browser.

Define the sheet set operations using dialog box selections.

Functions - General settings

Drawing number/group
Select the drawing number or the group. Enter the drawing number or name of the drawing group, or select from the list.
If the field is left empty, the program asks for drawing numbers.
Interactive mode
When interactive mode is selected, the program asks for missing data during sheet set operations.
If interactive mode is not selected, the sheet set operations are performed without interruptions. Errors and missing information are recorded in a log file.

Functions - Operations for Each Sheet

Layer Group
Select a layer group. Select the layer group from the list, in which are shown the same layer groups as in the function of a drawing window Layers> Select Layers from List.
Start by param.program:
A parameter program performed before other sheet set operations.
Update text symbols
When this function has been selected, the program updates the text macros according to the text macro group selected in the Text macro field.

Select the text symbol group you want to update. Select from the list. Text macro groups are defined in the file setup/txtgroup.
Translate texts
When text translation has been selected, the program translates the constant texts in the drawings according to the translation function selected in the Translate operation field. Translations are made for constant texts defined in the translation database.

Selecting the translation function for the texts. Select the translate operation from the list, Finnish - English, for example. Translation functions are defined in the file Share/texts/wordbooks.
Update the position references
When this function has been selected, the program updates the position references of the selected drawings.
End by param.program:
A parameter program performed after other sheet set operations.

Tab - Diagram checks

Check device and contact label
The program checks all device and contact labels in the diagram. Error message is listed in the log file from the missing device labels. Contact label has to be with all connection points to which at least one wire is connected. (ED)

When the checking of labels function is activated, an error message is added to a log file of a sheet operations, if several connection lines are connected to a cutting reference macro. In this case, if position references are updated, the following error message is displayed "Several connection lines connected to an off-page connector Nn".
Check connection lines
The program checks all wire ends are connected to some connection point.
Check wire and cable labels (ED)
The program checks that each wire has a cable and wire label. Generally this checking is utilized in cable harness design.
With the values of a keyword link_label mode in the keyword group ED, HD and PI setup settings, you can control the testing of wires of sheet operations.
  • link_label mode = 1, wires must have both wire and cable label.
  • link_label mode = 0 (default), only wires that has been marked as cabled will be checked. Wires must have both labels, otherwise an error message is displayed.
