Add a Symbol

Add a symbol by selecting the symbol in the browser. You can select symbol properties, a Z coordinate or an angle, for example. Before clicking location for the macro, you can select auxiliary functions to copy or mirror the symbol, to change its size, for example.

  1. Open the Symbol Browser by pressing the B key.
  2. Find symbol using Browser functions.

  3. Add the symbol by selecting one of the followings:
    • Select the context-sensitive function Add.
    • Double-click the symbol.
    • Drag the symbol to the drawing window.
  4. Select symbol properties.

    The function Connection line cutting is active by default. It cut's the connection line on the symbol automatically.
  5. Select an auxiliary positioning function of the symbol, if necessary.

  6. Click the position of the symbol on the connection line.
  7. Select Confirm.

You can also select the function from the context-sensitive menu if no element selected.

Note

  • If you are adding a symbol on the connection line and snap to grid points is selected, the macro will be positioned to the grip point on the line.
  • When adding a symbol, the cursor snaps to the symbol point automatically if the point is in the search area. The point is marked with grey color when you move the cursor near to another symbol. If you move the cursor near to the handle, its color turns yellow, and you can click the point.
  • The covering property of the macro will be updated by pressing the P key.
  • Later you change the size of a symbol by selecting the symbol and the Properties function. Edit values in the dialog box fields X scale and Y scale.
