Save a Model Drawing

New or changed drawing can be saved in the model or as documents in the drawing archive. By default it is assumed that drawings are created from an archived model.

When saving the model the archives data is copied to the drawing, and at the same time the model is saved in the model archives (3D), if in the model has been edited after previous saving.

The drawing projections saved in the drawing archives have associativity to the model. The changes made to the model can be refreshed to the projections of the drawing by selecting the Update function.

When opening a drawing from a model, you can either accept or cancel refreshing the projections.

You can save the model drawing when the model window (3D) or the drawing window (2D) is active. Save a drawing as follows:

With the model window active

  1. Select Vertex, and select Save.

The program will prompt you to confirm or discard saving the model drawing.

  2. Do either of the following:

    • Select Yes to confirm saving the drawing in the drawing archive. The archives data of the model is copied to the archives data of the drawing. If necessary, complement the archives data of the drawing and confirm the changes.

Drawing archive label

The archive label of a drawing is determined by the model name. The first drawing in order has the same name as the model, Plate, for example. To the following A lower case suffix letter is added to the subsequent drawings, beginning from the letter b, Plateb, for example.

If the automatic numbering of drawings is in use, an extension consisting of a dash (-) and a running letter or number will be added to the name of the drawing, depending on which accessory is in use.

Automatic Numbering of a Document

Other methods of naming the drawing archive labels are carried out as customer fittings.

Note:
  • Changes made in the archives data of a model are automatically refreshed in the archives data of the model's drawing. The data is refreshed only to the data of the first drawing of the model.
  • You can also save a drawing by closing the drawing by clicking the window button.
