Filter Vertex Database’s Rows
You can limit the rows to be handled by defining filtering criteria on the topmost empty row. This row is visible only, when you have scrolled the database as up as it goes.
The columns on the filtering row have been marked with the symbol . By clicking the symbol, you can view a list of all the different values used in the column. You can select a value and use it as filtering criteria.
You can also define the filtering criteria in the following way:
- Enter the filtering character string in the field without special characters.
- Press the Enter key. The database display will only show the rows that meet the filtering terms.
Filtering tools
Select one field from the filter row and click the mouse right button. You will get additional filtering tools available.
Filter: Filter the rows according to your search conditions.
Filter – add matched: You can add rows to your previous filtered list with a new search.
Filter – hide matched: You can hide rows from your previous filtered list with a new search.
Filter by column values:
- Selected values…: You can select from selected column all those rows, which you want to list. You can see the number of lines per each value from the selection list. There is a column Mixed case in the selection list view, if you have disabled the option Match case in filtering. That field contains a symbol X, if that specific value contains two or more versions of itself. For example Loose flange and LOOSE FLANGE.
- Different values: You can list different values from a specific column. The search engine filters different values from the field Type, for example, and lists one row per value.
- Unique rows: You can list values, which occur only once in the database, from a specific column.
- Not unique rows: You can list values, which occur multiple times in the database, from a specific column. In other words, the program hides unique values.
Filter current list: You can filter already filtered list with new search conditions.
Filter current list by column values: You can filter the already filtered list with new search conditions similarly to the function Filter by column values.
Show all: Restore the filtered database back to its original state.
Invert hidden and visible rows: Hide visible rows and unhide hidden rows.
Special Character: You can add special characters for example the symbol of diameter to a specific field.
Use wildcards *?# in filter conditions: This option is disabled as a default. You need to type all search conditions by using wild cards, if you enable this option. The program does not anymore search a string “FL”. It searches a full match. You need to type the search string with the wild cards like this *FL*.
Match case in filtering: This option is disabled as a default. It means that, when you are filtering rows, upper and lower case letters are treated equally. Searches “FL” and “fl” return the same result. The font size becomes meaningful, if you enable this option. For example: A search “FL” return results from the fields Class, but a search “fl” does not.
