G4 15.0 - Editing Vertex Settings

The editing of the setup text file in a text editor has now been partially discontinued.

• The files have been replaced with a single file, ../system/programs/vxsettings.xml.
• The file can be edited in a dialog box, and any changes made in it are saved in the ../custom/programs/vxsettings.xml file.

• Only the modified rows will be saved in the file.

Vertex will always read the settings in the system folder first, and then the settings in the custom folder, i.e. the customer's own settings. The settings read last remain in effect.

You can return to the factory settings simply by deleting the ../custom/programs/vxsettings.xml file. All settings will then be read from the system folder.

Setup files you cannot edit

The new functionality is not yet in use for the following setup files.

• Parts list settings - KOMPOT.
• Application databases menu - DBMENU
• Visible fields of thumbnail document selection - ARCHIVEDEF
• Please also note that, with regard to attribute definitions, the PARTLIST file is no longer used. Its settings are now found in the draft keyword group in the new setup dialog box.
