Save a Model as a PDF 3D or PDF 2D file

Save a Model as a PDF 3D or PDF 2D file. You can view the PDF file with Adobe Reader. Saving as as a 3D PDF file is an add-on.
If you have hidden parts of the model, you can select whether to only save the parts visible in the model or all model parts into the 3D PDF file. Hide a Part or Subassembly in an Assembly
- Open a model in the working window.
- Select Save As New, and select Save to Another Format.
- Select the file format: Adobe Acrobat Files (*.pdf)
- Select the Version.

- Select Save.
- Do one of the following:
- In the Other Views dialog window, select the view in which to position the model in the working window. If you have hidden parts of the model, you can select to only save the parts that are visible in the model into a PDF file. Select Save Only Visible Parts.
If you select Save Only Visible Parts, those parts that are hidden in the model will not be displayed. However, you can restore the hidden parts to view in the complete PDF final by selecting the context-sensitive function Part Options> Show all Parts.
- Rotate the model to the desired alignment in the working window.
- Restrict the visibility of the model. Note that only the first cropping of the image is saved in the PDF file.
- In the Other Views dialog window, select the view in which to position the model in the working window. If you have hidden parts of the model, you can select to only save the parts that are visible in the model into a PDF file. Select Save Only Visible Parts.
- Select OK.
- View the PDF file with the Adobe Reader functions.
Note:
- When you open the file in Adobe Reader, click the document to activate it. After that, you can rotate the model by left-clicking and moving the mouse.
