Printing a Spare Parts Book
Spare Parts Book
You can print a spare parts book from a main assembly or a subassembly. The spare parts book is opened as a PDF file in the Adobe Reader application.
Table of contents is automatically collected based on spare parts drawings created from subassemblies.
- Print out a spare parts book from either of the following:
- Open the product's main assembly in the working window.
- Open the subassembly in the working window.
- Move the cursor to the working window.
- Select the context-sensitive function Other Exports> Spare Parts Book.
- Select the pair of languages in which the spare parts will be printed on the pages of the book.
- 1: The selected language is displayed first.
- 2: The selected language is displayed second.
- Confirm the language selections.
- The finished spare parts book will open in the Adobe Reader application.
Viewing the spare parts book is more convenient if you change certain settings in the Adobe Reader application.
Note:
- If you have printed the same spare parts book before, close the old PDF file before reprinting the spare parts book.
- If there are problems in printing the spare parts book, the software will write an error log in the home directory named user/SpBookErrorLog.txt. Open the file for viewing.
- Vertex automatically names the PDF file. For example, SP-Ex400PipeAssy-FI-EN.pdf.
The file name is formed as follows: SP-AssemblyLabel-SelectedLanguagePair.pdf.
- The spare parts book is saved as a PDF file in the Shared/projects folder of the active project, or the general archive Shared/picts, depending on whether the model in question was saved in the general archive or a project archive.
