Add a Light to the Model
Rendering
A model can contain several light types. The default lighting of a visualized model comprises the ambient light, distant light and eye light that have been assigned values.
- On the tab, in the Lights group, select Add.
- Select a folder in the browser. The software supplier's lights are in the Vertex Library.
- Do either of the following:
- Double-click the light's thumbnail.
- Click the thumbnail with the right mouse button and select Select.
- Define the light properties in the dialog box.

The selected light is displayed in the feature tree of the part, or the assembly tree. Every time you add a light, it is placed next to the previous light in the tree.
Adding a Light in the Feature Tree
- Click the Rendering symbol in the feature tree of the part or the assembly tree.
- Select the context-sensitive function Add Light.
- Select a folder in the browser. A symbol in the thumbnail of a light in the folder shows the light type:
- Ambient Light
- Eye Light
- Distant Light
- Point Light
- Spot Light
- Do either of the following:
- Double-click the light's thumbnail.
- Click the thumbnail image with the right mouse button and select Select.
- Define the light properties in the dialog box.

Note:
- The browser shows the My Library (user's lights) and Vertex Library (software supplier's lights).
- You can edit the values the light, position or direction of the light. Select the Light symbol and the context-sensitive function Edit Values.
- You can delete a light from a model by selecting the Light symbol from the tree, and then select the Delete function.
