Verify Path Length

You can measure a path's length, and the program will report the distance between each point, like the function Verify Distance, and it will also report the total length of the path and the distance between the first and the last point. However, this function will not report the minimum distance between elements, but the distance between the selected points.

Verify path length as follows:

  1. Select Assembly/Part | Dimensions | Distance Path Length. More options...Less options...
    • (OR) Select Verify Distances Verify path length from the tool strip.
  2. If necessary, change the measuring tool settings in the Verify Distance dialog box.
  3. If necessary, limit snapping to elements to help you select the element you want. You can find the auxiliary functions for snap limiting at the top left corner of the model window. Limit the Type of Element the Cursor will Snap to in the Model
  4. Select the path to be measured.
    Note:
    • Even though you can select lines and surfaces, the program will only use the selected point. For clarity, it is recommended to only select points.
    • If necessary, you can also select points from outside the geometry.
  5. If you want to measure a new path, remove the previous path by selecting Clear.
  6. When you wish to quit measuring paths, select OK.
