Verify Radius/Diameter
You can measure the radii or diameters of lines or surfaces. In the dialog box you can select whether to measure the radius or the diameter and in which unit you wish the results to be displayed. The measurement results are rendered in the model and displayed in the dialog box, from which you can copy them to the clipboard. If you select more elements, their measurement results will be displayed in addition to the previous ones both in the model and in the dialog box. The measurement results are numbered and the numbers are displayed in both the model and the dialog box.
The measurement is done in different ways depending on what elements you choose. The different ways are explained in the following table.
Element | Measurement method |
---|---|
Circle line, cylinder or ball | The radius is calculated normally. |
Ellipse line | Both radii of the ellipse are calculated. |
Cone | The radius is calculated from both ends of the cone. |
Torus | The defining radii of the torus are calculated. |
Planar or spline surface | The radius of each edge of the surface is attempted to be calculated. |
Verify radii or diameters as follows:
-
Select Assembly/Part | Dimensions | .
- (OR) Select from the tool strip.
- If necessary, change the measuring tool settings in the Verify Distance dialog box.
- If necessary, limit snapping to elements to help you select the element you want. You can find the auxiliary functions for snap limiting at the top left corner of the model window. Limit the Type of Element the Cursor will Snap to in the Model
- According to the table above, select an element whose radius or diameter you wish to measure.
- Select more elements, if you wish.
- If you wish to clear the measurement results, select Clear.
- When you wish to quit measuring radii or diameters, select OK.
