Material Properties of a Profile
The property data of a profile library is defined in the PROPPROP file. The customer-specific profile libraries are located in the ../custom/proflibrary folder. The profile libraries provided by the software supplier are located in the ../system/proflibrary folder. Make a backup copy of the PROFPROP file before editing it.
The material group of a profile is defined with the keyword mat_group in the file:
mat_group= ALL
The value can be ALL or the label of a material group.
Other material properties are defined with the keywords mat_param in the following format:
mat_param= PARAM VALUE
where PARAM is a parameter and VALUE is the value given to it.
Parameter | Description | Example |
---|---|---|
L.MATER.CODE | List of production materials. | mat_param= L.MATER.CODE C18|C24|C30|C35|C40 |
S.MATER.TYPE | Material type. For example, cold-rolled steel, hot-rolled steel, wood, etc. | mat_param= S.MATER.TYPE WOOD |
S.SHAPE | Shape of the cross section. Defines the shape and the direction. | mat_param= S.SHAPE RECT |
Parameter | Description | Example |
---|---|---|
S.CODE.OUT | Code used in material collection. | mat_param=S.CODE.OUT SECTION|" "|MATER.CODE |
S.SYMMETRY | Symmetry of the cross section. S = symmetric, A = asymmetric | mat_param= S.SYMMETRY A |
L.MATER.IFC | IFC property set. | mat_param= L.MATER.IFC ifc_props |
Grade settings can be used in the Vertex BD steel structure environments that have been localized in the European union, Australia and China. The grade setting allows you to use the same profile library in different regions (so far only European union, Australia and China).
