You can edit the classifications of building components in the dialog box.
Dialog Box Options
- Components
- The selected building components are displayed on the list in the top left corner of the
dialog box. When you select a row on the list, the matching building component is color
highlighted in the drawing-model pair. The classifications of the building component are
displayed in the list on the right.
- You can select several rows in the Components list by holding down the Ctrl key while
clicking. The classifications which are common to all selected building components are
displayed in bold on the right-hand list. The other classifications
are displayed in regular, grey font.
- The following properties are defined for classifications:
- Type - Type is used as a search criterion parameter when you are defining a
component change rule.
- Classification - Classification is used as a search criterion comparison value when
you are defining a component change rule.If, for example, the type is COMP_USE and the
classification is TERRACE, the search criterion will be of the form COMP_USE =
"TERRACE".
- Description - Description text for the classification.

- You can use this function to select a classification from either the classification
database (d_USE) or the classification list tree defined in the DesignStream system (the
DesignStream Interface add-on feature).
- Select one or more building components in the Components list, and click the
Add button. The classification will be added to all building
components selected on the list.
- Select a classification from the database (d_USE)The Select Classification database
view opens. Move the cursor onto the desired row in the database view, and click the
OK button. You can add a new classification to the database as follows:
- Add a row to the database in one of the following ways:
- Select Edit > Add Row Before or Edit > Add Row After.
- Copy an existing row with the Edit > Copy Row function.
- Fill in the fields Use code and Description.
The Type of the classification will automatically be COMP_USE.
- Select a classification from the DesignStream systemWhen you have the DesignStream
Interface add-on feature available, the list tree defined in the DesignStream system
will open. Open a branch in the tree, select a classification, and click the OK
button. The Type of the classification is determined by the keyword
comp_use_class_group set in the BDSX keyword group. The keyword value must be a
classification type defined in the DesignStream system.

- You can use this function to add a freeform classification.
- Select one or more building components in the Components list, and click the
New button. The classification will be added to all building
components selected on the list. Define the classification data in the Enter New
Classification dialog box:
- Types - COMP_USE is the default, but you can enter the desired character string in
the text field. Take the type's usability in component change rules into
consideration.
- Classification - Enter the desired character string in the text field. Take the
classification's usability in component change rules into consideration.
- Description - Enter a description text for the classification in the text
field.
- Remove
- You can use this function to remove a classification from a building component.
- Select one or more building component in the Components list.
- Select one or more building classification in the right-hand list.
- Click the Remove button.
