Copying with Radius
With this function, desired number of copies of the selected object group are added to the drawing or to the model thus that the copies are placed on the arc of a circle. This function can be selected after selecting the objects to be copied and selecting the reference point.
The reference point of the original object group and the selected rotation axis defines the radius of the arc. In the 3D model, the rotation axis is defined by selecting its start and end points. Each copy is located thus that the reference point of the copy settles on the arc. The number of copies and the angle between them is typed from the keyboard in a text box separated with a comma. In the 2D drawing the rotation direction is clockwise, when the value of the angle is negative, and counter-clockwise, when the value is positive. In the 3D model the right hand rule defines the rotation direction. The positive direction of the rotation axis is always from the starting point towards the end point.
- Select the location of the rotation axis (in the 3D model the start and end points of the axis).
- Type the number of copies and the angle between them.
Concepts in the 2D drawing:
(a) = Angle (b) = Reference point (c) = Rotation axis |
Concepts in the 3D model:
(a) = Angle (b) = Reference point (c1) = Start point of rotation axis (c2) = End point of rotation axis (d) = Rotation direction |
The auxiliary function can be used with the following functions:
