Option System

You can solve the options of the option groups defined in the ± BOM database and collect their materials.

  1. Select Options | +/- BOM Groups Solve +/- Models.
  2. Select the report to be printed from a list.

    The difference between these two reports is the output format of the bill of materials which is generated as a result of the comparison process. The output formats can be customized to meet the requirements of your company.

  3. When you select either of these functions, the program solves the option groups marked with an X in the Model Set database. It then collects the materials of each solved model into the material database. If you already have collected the materials earlier, the program prompts you to confirm the overwriting of the database.

The so called Differential bill of materials is opened in the text editing program defined in the settings. Usually the material quantities of the option groups are compared to the default building model named BASE. The materials of the BASE set are displayed at the top of the list. The quantities of the other option groups are compared to the BASE model, and only the differences in the quantities are displayed on the list on behalf of these groups.

The Differential BOM is stored in the project folder with the name bom.plusmin1 or bom.plusmin2. You can later view the Differential BOM with the function Viewing ± Reports.

  • The solved model remains active. You can restore the option model with the function Restore Option Model.
