Parallel Ruler to Distance (2D)
The cursor can be set to move parallel to and a certain distance away from a reference line. You can select this ruler also during drawing a line.
- The ruler is set by selecting the line to which the ruler will be parallel.
- The position of the cursor defines on which side of the line the ruler is positioned.
- You must note that the reference line cannot be part of the line being drawn. After you have selected the reference line, enter the distance value of the ruler.
After you have set the ruler, click the first and second point of the line. After you have clicked the second point, the ruler is automatically switched off.
- Select Set parallel ruler to distance.
- Select a line.
- Click the side of the line on which you want to position the ruler.
- Enter the distance of the ruler from the selected line.
Note:
- You cannot select the segment of the line being drawn as the reference line.
- Negative distance places the ruler on the opposite side of the line.
