Autosaving a Building

In addition to user saves, one or more automatic saves of the building are stored. The automatic save interval can be set in the system settings. You can also set the user-specific save interval and number of automatic saves as follows:

  1. Select File > Preferences > User default settings. The User Settings dialog box opens.
  2. In the Time interval field, enter the autosave frequency in minutes.
  3. Type the number of autosaves in the No. of autosaves field.
  4. If necessary, you can restore the autosave defaults by clicking the Default values button.
  5. Save the user-specific settings by clicking the OK button.
Note:

  • The default autosave time interval is defined in the BDSXX keyword group using the keyword building_autosave.

  • When you open a building, you can select a previous save to open in the building browser.

  • If you want the latest save to refer to the latest autosave when opening the building, set the keyword allow_auto_as_last= 1 in the BDSXX keyword group.

  • If a building is open, you can restore the autosave or a user save by selecting Archives | Buildings | Open > Select save.
