Define IO Types to Database
Device types used by PLC software are saved in DEV_TYPEn databases according to IO types.
Symbols required for IO types are saved in the symbol list, and referred to with a symbol's name in the device data. Some data is given with Additional information function in the management of device types, because different IO types require variable amounts of data.
Description field
To description field you define the free description of the IO type.
Name field
To name field you define the name of the IO type, so it can be referred in the IO list.
For example VSWITCH1
Basic type field
To basic type field you select the basic type from the alternatives.
For example 1 NORM.INPUT
Symbol field
To symbol field you define the name of the symbol, that is added in the IO schema.
Lt.rule field
To Lt.rule field you define the number of the device code's drafting rule. The default value
is 1.
In cases of relay controlled outlets, the value has to be 2. With
some rules an additional text part is required, that is separated from the rule value with
slash (/).
For example 1/Y
Amount field
To amount field you define the number of rows that a IO type in question requires from a IO list. The amount of rows is needed only with combined inputs/outputs and outlets.
Linkage field
To linkage field you define the numbers of those signals, that are linked in the device type in question in the same position where the device is located. Required output numbers are defined with junction blocks in the field.
Numbering of signal types:
Contact pin code | Signal type |
+ | 2 |
- | 3 |
N | 5 |
PE | 4 |
In the linkage field for example 2,3 (linking + and -)
Sgn field
To sgn field you define the amount of control wires that a IO device requires. (default is 1)
Material code field
To material code field you define the material code of symbols drawn in layout drawings. (Non-mandatory)
Cable diagram field
To cable diagram code field you define the name of group, that you want to correspond a device type in question in the cable layout drawing.
Layout field
To layout field you define the name of a symbol, that you want to correspond a device type in question in distribution board and field layout drawings.
For example LOG_VSWITCH1
Cable type field (Additional information)
To cable type field you define the type of a cable, that feeds a device type in question. If the device type is not cabled, you can define the type as NO_CABLE.
Contact pin number field (Additional information)
To contact pin number field you define the numbers of IO card's contact pins in the corresponding order of channel numbering.
Note field (Additional information)
To note field you define additional information in free form. (Non-mandatory)
Auxiliary symbols field (Additional information)
To auxiliary symbols field you define the names of symbols, that you want to locate in the circuit diagram where the type in question is referred to. Auxiliary symbols are used with device types, that need several IO list rows.
Type the first symbol (the first row in the IO list) of an IO device with several rows to the device data's symbol field. Then type the second and the following symbols in the auxiliary symbols fields.
Plan drawing field (Additional information)
To plan drawing field you define the name of plan drawings related to output type of outlet in question.
For example p_1s_brake
